Hamilton Lawyers’ Club

COVID-19 Update

We are living and working in unprecedented and constantly evolving conditions. The COVID-19 Global Pandemic has challenged lawyers to adapt and find innovative ways to connect with their clients and each other. The Hamilton Lawyers’ Club remains committed to promoting comradery and professionalism amongst its members.

The Executive of the Hamilton Lawyers’ Club has made the difficult decision to cancel all in-person social events for the 2020 calendar year. We are exploring virtual alternatives to help our members stay connected until we can gather again.

Given these challenging times for both our profession and the Hamilton community, a $5,000 donation has been made on behalf of our membership to the Lawyers’ Legacy for Children. This money has been earmarked for Essential Aid, a local organization in the north end of Hamilton which operates an Emergency Infant & Toddler Food Bank Program. Essential Aid’s services and programs help to ensure that families with infants and toddlers have access to an emergency supply of baby formula, breastfeeding supplies, diapers, baby foods and toddler friendly foods. To learn more about Essential Aid, visit their website: www.essentialaid.ca

Please stay safe. We look forward to seeing everyone in person again.

Our History

It is unclear as to when the Hamilton Lawyers’ Club was officially formed – records kept by the Hamilton Law Association suggest the Club may have been formed in the 1920s. Before that, the Wentworth Law Association is credited with arranging the annual lawyers’ picnic, that remains an annual tradition, at least as early as 1900. Today, the Hamilton Lawyers’ Club maintains and promotes the tradition of professionalism, camaraderie and community that have become the cornerstone of the Hamilton Bar.

Our Team

The executive of the Hamilton Lawyers’ Club is comprised of 10 lawyers representing various practice areas with members in all stages of their legal career.
