Hamilton Lawyers’ Club History

Records kept by the Hamilton Law Association suggest that the Hamilton Lawyers’ Club was formed in the 1920s. Before that, the Wentworth Law Association is credited with arranging the annual lawyers’ picnic beginning around 1900. The picnic remains one of the Hamilton Lawyers’ Club annual events. Today, the Hamilton Lawyers’ Club maintains and promotes the tradition of professionalism, camaraderie and community that have become the cornerstone of the Hamilton legal community.

This award was established at our 150th annual picnic in 2023 to recognize a member of the Hamilton Lawyers’ Club who has demonstrated longstanding commitment to the Club and support for its events.
